Free domain check
Who owns your domain? And is it about to lapse?
Your domain is your website and your email address. Check who it's registered to, who it's registered with, and whether it's due for renewal, before it causes a problem.
What it looks at
- Who it is registered to
- For .au domains, the business or person on the registry record and their ABN. If it is a previous web designer, you do not fully control your domain.
- Registrar
- The company you pay for the domain, where you log in to renew it or change its settings.
- Renewal
- When it expires, or for .au domains whether it is in its renewal window, and whether it has already lapsed.
- Protection
- Whether it is locked against being moved without your permission, and who hosts its DNS.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. No sign-up, and you see the full result straight away.
- Where does the information come from?
- From the public domain registries (RDAP), the same records that registrars use. For .au domains the registry publishes who a domain is registered to, but not its expiry date.
- Do you keep my domain?
- No. We look it up, show you the result and don't store it. See our privacy policy.
- It's registered to my old web designer. What now?
- Ask them to transfer it into your business's name; your registrar can walk you through it. When you move your website to us, the domain stays registered to you.
