What the check looks at
- Security
- A secure connection (HTTPS), whether old http:// links are redirected, insecure files on a secure page, and out-of-date server software that no longer gets security fixes.
- Phones
- Whether your site fits a phone screen, and whether your phone number is a tap-to-call link.
- Your page title and description in search results, your main heading, anything hiding you from Google, a sitemap, business details for Google, image descriptions, your site icon and broken links.
- Enquiries
- Whether visitors can find your phone number and send you a job (we check your contact page too), and the trust signals customers look for: your ABN or licence number, a privacy policy and an up-to-date footer.
- Speed
- How quickly your server answers, how much your home page downloads (naming the heaviest file), and large images in older formats.
